Huw Lloyd-Ellis

Huw Lloyd-Ellis has over 25 years of experience conducting academic research in a broad range of areas, including economic development, growth and inequality, economic fluctuations, fiscal policy and housing. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies and the International Economic Review. Recently, Huw has been working on several projects developing analytical tools and policy advice related to the economic and social impacts of COVID-19 in Canada and in developing countries. He teaches and supervises research in economic development, housing and macroeconomics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Huw has previously taken on several administrative roles, including head of the Queen’s Economics Department (2013-2019), and is currently an Academic Economic Advisor to Limestone Analytics
